Coordinate measurement machine

A coordinate measurement machine (CMM) is a precision measurement tool that uses geometrical points across a three-dimensional coordinate system in order to measure an object. The three central components of any CMM include the central structure of the tool that houses the three measurement axes, the probing tool or system, and the software that collects the necessary data points. The probe on a CMM can be mechanical, laser, white light, or optical and moves around the object of interest either manually or controlled by a computer. The Fowler zCat DCC CMM is a unique tool that has both manual and computerized operation of the probe, and is built to be portable.
