Dial indicator readout
The dial indicator readout is the readout itself on a dial indicator that provides the numerical value of the measurement. The readout is typically designed to mimic the face of a clock and uses revolutions of a dial to mark a particular distance. Dial readings can be balanced for bilateral tolerances and go in opposing directions away from the zero point on the dial, or they can be continuous for unilateral tolerances and go in one direction away from zero. Dial indicator readouts can utilize a single revolution for higher magnification purposes or up to ten full revolutions for less magnified distance measurements.
