Gage R & R Study
A gage R & R study is a repeatability and reproducibility test to assess the amount of variability within a particular measurement system. By collecting data focused on both the behavior of the operator conducting the measurement as well as the behavior of the equipment used, gage R & R studies get the complete picture of the inconsistency within a measurement system. This leads to a ratio of precision to tolerance, determining whether the system can continue to function as it is or whether some part of it needs adjustment. A gage R & R study can be analyzed using short AIAG, long AIAG, or ANOVA.
