A measuring microscope is a precision measurement tool used for non-contact measurements. The measuring microscope assesses the X-Y-axis or any planar dimension that is in the microscope field using either binocular or trinocular options. The eyepiece reticle of a measurement microscope is used to take the actual measurement, and most include a compound component. When making a measurement, the reticle of the microscope super-imposes the built-in grid or ruler making measurements quick and accurate. Most measurement microscopes today, such as those made by Mitutoyo, are built with visual unit technology that allows for simple measurement collection, adjustment, and storage.
