A repeatability test is a standardized methodology that analyzes the repeatability of a particular measurement. Repeatability tests are very important to conduct regularly and require a specific set of procedures. When conducting a repeatability test, a series of measurements must be taken successively using the same device, operated by the same operator, in the same environment, and measuring the same item, part, or area. All factors must be held constant in order to truly assess whether the measurements themselves have a high degree of repeatability. Statistical procedures can then be used to analyze the resulting data and ensure repeatability. Back to entire glossary
