Runout
Runout refers to an inaccuracy of the radial or axial alignment on a circular part. Basically, runout of a part is occurring if the part does not rotate perfectly in line with its main axis. When a part is rotated, a dial test indicator can be used to detect any degree of runout that may be present. Runout is likely present in most systems or parts, and it is possible that opposing types of runout may cancel each other out in totaling.
