Baror hole gages are simply designed to measure a hole or bore. The barcor hole gages are a simplified version of a bore gage. The operator need to insert the needle into the bore, press the base firmly against the part, and the diameter will display on the dial indicator. Higher Precision has the ability to quote Barcor hole gages with an electronic indicator instead of the dial if the customer prefers. Optional setting masters are available but not required to use the gage. If you are interested in a custom made setting master for your Barcor hole gage, let us know the nominal bore size you are trying to measure and we can have the setting master quoted.
Barcor hole gages are so popular because you do not need a setting master to use. There is a “set to” number stamped on the back of the gage. Operators need to press the flat base of the gage on a flat surface and the needle should point to the “set to” number. If the gage is off at all, users can rotate the bezel so the needle is pointing to the “set to” number and the gage is ready for use. Users also have the option to purchase a custom made setting if they choose for their hole gage but is not necessary.
