Fowler 12”/300mm Flip-Plus Electronic Caliper

Hi this is Mike with Higherprecision.com and today we are going to be taking a look at the Fowler 12 Inch Flip Plus Electronic Caliper. The part number for this caliper is 54-200-512.

The Fowler Flip Plus Electronic Caliper includes a few different items inside of the packaging. You obviously have your caliper itself, a fitted case to keep the caliper in, you have directions in case you have any question about the caliper or any confusion. The most important piece is you have a NIST traceable certificate of calibration which is great because you don't need to send it out separately to a cal lab, and if you need this for your floor you have it readily available to show. It includes two sets of batteries. One we currently have in the caliper. And a one inch mic standard which allows you to set your accuracy off of. Now that we have taken a look at what is inside of the case now we are going to look over the electronics and specifications of the gage.

The Fowler Flip Plus Electronic Caliper has a simple three button design. You have your rotate button which I will explain a little bit more in depth in a few seconds. Your metric and inch button that lets you toggle between the two. Your "on" and "floating zero" button. If you hold this it will also turn off the electronic. The other great thing about this display is it has a 180 degree movable display. So if you have an application that needs to be moved or looking at it from a different angle you can move it. When you flip this around the great thing about this is that anyone who works in measurement or in some type of metrology or machining
knows that left handed gages are not common. If you flip this gage up and hold the rotate button it now allows you to read it as a true lefty. As you can see sliding back and forth. Another kind of neat thing they have on the back are the four ways to measure. Anyone who has used a caliper pretty regularly most likely knows that you have with a caliper you can read your outside diameter, inside diameter, depth rod at the end, and of course the step.

Today we have taken a look at the 12" Fowler Electronic Flip Plus Caliper. We took a look at what is included with it in the case. A look at the electronics. How you use the rotating display for lefties, and if you have any other questions or need anything else please feel free to reach out to us at Higherprecision.com and we are more than happy to assist you.
