These plates must be quoted with a stand as well. When requesting a quote please us know which options you would prefer. We can provide stationary stands with leveling screws or rolling stands with casters. These stands do not require any type of assembly. The standard height for these stands is 34-36″ (900mm) from the floor to the top of the surface plate. The 85088 granite surface plate is compatible with either stand.Â
Starrett’s superior black granite has low water absorption, thus minimizing the possibility of your precision gages rusting while setting on the plates. The 85088 black granite creates little glare resulting in less eyestrain for individuals using the plates. We have chosen our superior black granite with the specific intent of keeping thermal expansion to a minimum.Â
Starrett can provide special application plates as well. Should your application require something other than a standard surface plate we can provide you with custom options. They can produce plates from pink, black, or gray granite (Generic plates like the 85088 are the color black). Custom sizes and thicknesses are available upon request to meet your needs.
We can also add holes, counterbores, threaded or solid stainless steel inserts, and t-slots to your surface plate.
