A tool presetter is a precision optical or contact measurement instrument used to measure the length and diameter of cutting tools,  drills, end mills, boring bars, and inserts. Offline before they are loaded into a CNC machine tool. Presetters allow tool offsets to be entered into the CNC controller accurately before machining begins, eliminating trial cuts, reducing setup time, and improving first-part accuracy.
