Hole Gages
Quick Answer
A hole gage is a precision instrument used to measure the internal diameter of small holes, bores, and recesses that are too small for a standard bore gage to access. Hole gages — including telescoping gages and small hole (ball) gages — transfer the internal dimension to an outside micrometer for measurement, allowing accurate diameter readings on holes from under 0.125″ (3mm) through approximately 6″ (150mm).
Higher Precision stocks hole gages from Starrett, Mitutoyo, INSIZE, Fowler, Barcor, and SPI — telescoping gages, small hole gages, dial hole gages, and electronic hole gages in inch and metric for measuring small bores, holes, slots, and recesses in manufacturing, machining, and quality control applications.
