Precision Granite Surface Plates
Precision Granite specializes in high quality surface plates made from granite. They offer a 0-ledge, 2-ledge, or 4-ledge build that can be manufactured to be laboratory grade (AA), inspection grade (A), or toolroom grade (B). AA grade surface plates are used for operations in temperature controlled environments requiring high levels of precision, A grade surface plates are appropriate for general quality control use, and B grade surface plates are well-suited for shop work and production checking. Made from black granite, all the Precision Granite surface plates are denser and more stable than standard granite surface plates. Each surface plate is built to meet or even exceed the tolerances within ASME B89.3.7-2013 and Federal Specification GGG-P-463c. Overall surface flatness and repeat gage measurements are guaranteed.
Precision Granite Stands
Precision Granite stands are designed to perfectly fit with the Precision Granite surface plates. Following the ASME B89.3.7-2013 and Fed. Spec. GGG-P-463c recommendations, these stands coincide precisely with three fixed points on the bottom of each surface plate. These Precision granite stands can support up to 50 pounds per square foot in addition to the weight of the surface plate. Stands come manufactured at a standard 36” working height unless specified otherwise when ordered. Precision Granite also offers comparator stands with either a standard 1″ dia. x 10″ high column, approx. 2½” throat clearance clamp or special 1.365″ dia. x 10″ high column, approx. 4.75″ throat clearance clamp.
Precision Granite Blocks and Plates
Precision Granite supplies a range of blocks, plates, and accessories to meet your needs. Vee blocks can in a base design to be centered with and parallel to base or in a universal design to be centered with and parallel to bottom and two sides while remaining square to the ends. Step blocks are sold individually or in pairs, and are designed with 6 faces that are finished to be flat, square, and parallel.
